Now that its out, any opinions on the new little Fiat ?

I saw one on the back of a lorry last week and it does look better in real life than pics. I expect it will sell really well and become the new 'Mini' very soon !

They do a diesel that does 67.3mpg (so they say, as per other thread!) but dont have any figures to hand for the petrol but theres usually not much in the two.

I do like it in red though.

Ell - do you ever get to see the cars they test or are you away from that side of things ?

Next silly question, are the 500's being sold at 'normal' Fiat dealerships ?

Waiting for the Arbarth SS model due out later this year I think, uses the 1.4 petrol model but with a wee garrett on it. Expected to be over 150bhp.

Reckon if finances look respectable I'll be trading in my VTR for one.

thing is its 155bhp in a tiny car like that and they can only get a 0-60 time of 7.5 that seems a bit slow to me

i think they are brilliant little cars! and that's my opinion from seeing pics of them so if they look even better in real life then i'm sure they will continue to sell well.

They look nice - but too girly and small for me want a bigger car for my next one.

Look nice in the flesh saw one last september in Tescos car park with 4 Italian lads in it was LHD and Italian plates on.

Another thought on the 0-60 time is maybe not many peeps can actually handle quick cars?

Its 5 star NCAP so they've gone all out safety, not bad rating for a car that size Smile

Been looking more at the car, the running cost for a 500 is 29 pence per mile compared to 31p per mile of mine, but it will retain 54% of its value after 3 years compared to 35% on mine Shocked

But its a designer car like the Mini.

On the 1st year the mini was out if you sold it a year later with average miles you could of sold it for more than it was bought for. Doubt the 500 will be quite teh same as its not a BMW.
